Just a reminder - the Annual Porsche Only Swap Meet will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 in Hershey, PA. More info at www.cpa-pca.org/swap This event is acknowledged as the largest gathering of Porsches in the world. Currently over 350 vendors of Porsche parts are signed up. You can sell your Porsche there in the Car Corral, compete in the Concours (I will be working there) or buy those rare 968 parts there.
Hope to see you there.

Only 3 weeks left before the Porsche Only Swap Meet on Saturday, April 23, 2011 in Hershey, PA. More info at website: www.cpa-pca.org/swap If you need a hotel room, get one fast!
Look me up in the Concours Parking area, where I will have my Red 968 Coupe (13,600 miles) plus lots of memorabilia (968 library, 968 models, plus lots more including a rare 968 Turbo RS ADAC version - both 1:24th and 1:43rd).
Jeff has indicated he is organizing a 968 Dinner on Friday night, April 22. I am planning on attending and hope to see you there. Saturday, catch me at the Concours.
Last Saturday Central Pa PCA Region had a tour of Don Melusio's rare care collection. Most of the cars are beautiful Italian sports cars but Don also has a rare Porsche 901 Prototype (only 13 made). Attached are some photos of the cars. Hoping that Don brings it to the Concours.
Just received a note from Jeff Coe, the 968 Register Advocate, advising that there will not be a group dinner from those attending the Porsche Only Swap Meet in Hershey, PA on April 23. Jeff would like 968 owners to meet at the Hilton Garden Inn on Friday night after they have their dinner.
A few owners have asked me whether I could arrange for dinner Friday night and I have tentatively set up a group dinner at a nearby restaurant which has a Veranda which seats 40 (10 tables X 4 seats each). Plan would be to have an INFORMAL group dinner (no presentations and no speeches) - order off the menu, pay with cash, Visa or MC and talk lots of 968 stuff while looking down at our 968s below. I will bring my 968, my 968 Library and all of my 968 models. If you come, please bring your 968 stuff to show to other owners. We plan on returning to the Holiday Garden Inn by 7pm Friday to meet the other 968 owners.
If you will be in Hershey on Friday, April 22 and want to join us, let me know at dhassenbein@comcast.net and I will send you additional info including how to get a 10 percent discount on your meal.
Hope that many old (and new) 968.netters will be able to join us. If you cannot make the dinner but plan on being at the Saturday Swap Meet, look for me in the Concours area, where I will be parking cars.

Update on the Hershey Swap Meet:
We met at the Hilton Garden and 5 968s and 1 944 Turbo went to the restaurant and had a great time reminiscing about past events and reviewing 968 memorabilia! It really is about people and not just cars!
Returned to the Hilton Garden Inn and met Jeff and his son Greg, who is now a Freshman in College. Back in 2001, Greg was 10 years old when he attended the first 968 event in Hershey.
Did the cars get wet? Absolutely! Did we have a great time? Absolutely, with a couple people showing up who were not expected (Jim and Kathy).
For those who come tomorrow to the Swap Meet, we will save a spot in the Concours area for you. But, warning that Jeff's son Greg is a prolific finder of 968 memorabilia and has beaten me many times to a rare item - lol!
See attached photos from today's Swap Meet. Light rain up until about 10am, then no rain and sunshine in the afternoon. Jeff's Minty won lst place (again) in 924/944/928/968 category and Aaron's 944 Turbo won 3rd place. Good time was had by all.
See you next year
